1. What is aluminum die casting?

Aluminum die-casting, which is simple to understand, is a casting, or component, obtained by pressure casting. The specific process is as follows: using a pressure casting machine that has already installed a casting mold, such as a die-casting part, pouring liquid aluminum or aluminum alloy through a die-casting machine inlet, and pressing it through a die-casting machine to obtain a certain Aluminum alloy parts in size and shape. Therefore, such aluminum alloy parts are referred to as aluminum die castings.


2. What are the basic processes in the production process of aluminum die castings?

In the production process of aluminum die-casting, there are four basic processes of annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering. These four processes are called “four fires” in the die-casting industry. Among them, quenching and tempering are closely related and can be said to be indispensable.


Annealing of aluminum die castings is to warm the workpiece. When heated to a suitable temperature, the die casting is slowly cooled according to the different aluminum materials selected to bring the internal structure to near equilibrium. Normalizing, the aluminum die casting is heated to a suitable temperature and then cooled in the air to improve the cutting performance of the workpiece. Quenching is to heat the workpiece after heating and to rapidly cool it in the quenching medium. Rapid cooling in quenching media. The quenched die-casting part is tempered for a long time at a temperature higher than normal temperature, and then cooled, and the process is tempering.


3. Technical requirements for aluminum die castings

Aluminum die-casting parts, such a die-casting part, the technical performance requirements, mainly three, are:


Mechanical properties: It is a sample inspection of die-casting parts, and its mechanical properties are required to meet the requirements of GB/T15115. Moreover, the mechanical properties of the specified part of the cut-off sample should be no less than 75% of the single-cast sample.

Die-casting part size: mainly refers to the geometry and size of the die-casting part, which should meet the requirements in the casting pattern. If there are special requirements, they should be marked on the drawings. In addition, it is important to know that the dimensional tolerances of aluminum die castings do not include casting pitch.

Surface quality: mainly including surface roughness, etc., should meet the relevant requirements. On aluminum die-casting parts, there should be no cracks, under-casting, looseness, air bubbles and penetrating defects, so as not to affect the normality of the product and its performance.
