Heating and quenching requirements for aluminium die casting products
- Sep 28, 2018 -

The process of aluminium die casting products in the process of production is annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering. These four processes are called “four fires” in die casting, which are quenched and tempered during the die casting process. The relationship is very close and both are indispensable.

The annealing of aluminum die-casting products is mainly to warm the workpiece. When heated to the proper temperature, the die-casting parts can be slowly cooled according to the materials selected, and the internal structure of the metal is close to equilibrium. Normalizing is the process of heating the workpiece to a suitable temperature and then cooling it in the air. It is mainly used to improve the cutting function of the material. It can also be used for the end-casting of some parts that are not needed.

The quenching of aluminum die-casting products is to heat and heat the workpiece and then rapidly cool it in water or other quenching medium such as inorganic salt solution. After this process, the steel parts produced during the operation will harden. At the same time, the steel piece becomes brittle. In order to reduce the brittleness of the steel piece, the quenched steel piece can be placed at a temperature below 650 degrees Celsius above a normal temperature for a long time of heat preservation, and then cooled, which is called back. fire.
