The characteristic of the stainless steel casting process

At present, the shrinkage of the stainless steel casting process will exceed the cast iron, in order to prevent the shrinkage cavity or shrinkage porosity, the stainless steel casting process will adopt the flash groove,  chilling block and subsidies. In this way, the order of solidification is achieved.

 

In order to prevent shrinkage cavity, shrinkage porosity, air hole and crack defects in the stainless steel casting process, the wall thickness is uniform or the angle and right angle structure should be avoided. Sawdust will be added to the molding sand or coke will be added to the core. Hollow cores and oil cores will also be used to improve the deformability and air permeability of sand mould or cores.

 

When the stainless steel casting process is applied in practice, because of the poor flow performance of the steel liquid, in order to prevent the steel casting from producing  cold shut or short run, the wall thickness of the steel casting can not be less than 8mm.

 

If the stainless steel casting process uses dry cast or hot mould, it is necessary to improve the pouring temperature, generally speaking, which is between 1520 and 1600 ℃.

 

The pouring temperature of the stainless steel casting process is high, the superheat degree of the liquid steel is very large, the liquid time is longer and the flow performance will be improved. The pouring temperature of stainless steel casting process for large or thick-wall castings is about 100 ℃ higher than that of the melting point.
